After the arrival of Void onto the scene, humanity will need to figure out what to do. Start the mission and convene with your fellow BLADEs, and you'll learn what the plan is: a second departure. We're building a new White Whale and leaving Mira behind.
You'll be sent on another series of waypoints and cutscenes, to learn more about Al's time in the space between worlds, and even get some neat little cameos from some other games, so keep your screenshot button at the ready.
Your exposition session will be interrupted by a call from command. A Ma-non carrying a crucial piece for the new White Whale has gone missing, and Vandham needs Elma's squad to figure out what happened. Head to the waypoint in Oblivia.
Building a New ArkOnce there, you'll find signs that the engineer might still be alive, as well as some old pals in Ga Buidhe. The Wrothians are making their way to New Los Angeles for the evacuation of Mira, and Ga Buidhe is helping to transport the injured. After clearing out the sudden appearance of some Ganglion foes, head to the Wrothian hideout.
You'll find the Ma-non and their BLADE escort crew getting patched up by the Wrothians. The team still doesn't have the part they need, so they're heading to a new location to try and find it. Get ready for a few more cutscenes catching you up on Al's journey, Lao's shirtless afterlife, and more of what's in store for the rest of Chapter 13.
Then, a new call comes in, with some panicked shouts for help. The escort is in trouble in Noctilum, and your crew hurries off to help. Head over to Noctilum for your next beat.
Guess who's back, back again? The Vita's back, now commandered by the spirit of Void, and it wants another rematch. Only this time, you'll just tussle with some basic foes. Upper Qmoevas, Obedient Prones, things of that nature.
Take out the enemies, and you can move on with the story. Go check the Fallen Operative's body, and you'll get the part you need, as well as a solemn vow to not let their sacrifice be in vain. Head back to BLADE HQ for another long series of cutscenes.
This will be another snack-and-drink series of long story cutscenes, eventually culminating in the revelation of the White Whale 2's plan. You're not just leaving Mira, but the entire universe behind for a brand-new one. With that, Vandham informs the crew that a BLADE in the Residential District is seeking some help, so go assist.
What We Leave BehindSpeak with Kylie in the Residential District, and she'll inform you that a friend of hers in Sylvalum still hasn't made their way to NLA for the evacuation yet. Your crew will head out to make sure they're okay, and get them to safety. Head to the marked point on your map.
You'll arrive and do some sleuthing to discover that the residence has not been abandoned, so someone must have been there recently. Head in the direction of the distant screams, and you'll see a familiar foe waiting for you: a Ghost Crusader, attacking a Nopon.
Fend off the Ghost the same way you did in Act 1 of Chapter 13, and then you can go talk to the Nopon. Her name is Omomo, and she's a pal of Kylie's who is determined to stay on Mira. You can try to argue with her, but she'll ultimately determine she wants to stay on Mira rather than evacuate on the White Whale 2.
Head back to the Residential District in NLA with the somber news, and you'll get an immediate tone-shift, as Kylie will say Omomo has decided to leave after all. Seems like your words made an impact! No rest for the weary yet though, as Vandham will put you in touch with another BLADE squad commander who's looking for an MIA Curator.
Head to Noctilum and see if you can tie-off another loose thread amid the end of the world.
Preserving MiraHere you'll meet Tom, a Curator who doesn't want to follow the plan of leaving all the flora and fauna of Mira behind. The team sympathizes with his concerns, before Tatsu suddenly has a genuinely good idea: preserve all of Mira's genetic information, in the same way humanity preserved Earth through its own Exodus Project.
Everyone agrees, and as Tom handles Noctilum, you'll head off to the other regions of Mira to scan for genetic data. First, you'll make for Primordia.
After that comes Oblivia, down a cave with some nasty enemies.
Then you'll head to Sylvalum again...
And finally, to a remote island on Cauldros, also swarming with enemies.
Plant all of the markers and return to Tom, and you'll have compiled as much of Mira's genetic information as you can. While it's not perfect, at least now the world could potentially live on with the vestiges of humanity, wherever they may go.
Head back to BLADE HQ, and you'll find out that the White Whale 2 is finally complete. While there are still some T's to cross and I's to dot, humanity must now prepare for its last offensive: launch the White Whale 2, take the Ares' cores back from Void to power the ark, and make for a new universe.
Chapter 13 (Act 2): The Second Project ExodusIt's a lot to handle, but for now, you can take a brief sigh of relief, as you've completed Chapter 13 (Act 2): The Second Project Exodus in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. Just one more act to go before the big finale!
